In a study for the California Department of Boating and Waterways and Sonoma County, Dornbusch Associates evaluated the financial condition of the Spud Point Marina in Bodega Bay, California and drafted a business plan for the marina. Elements of the analysis included evaluating the operations and finances of the marina, examining the financial structure and debt load, recognizing trends and external factors affecting the marina, and identifying opportunities for reducing the marina’s operating costs and increasing the marina’s operating revenues to service debt. The business plan developed by Dornbusch was approved both by Sonoma County and the Department of Boating and Waterways, and was praised by both parties for the technical accuracy of its analysis. A financial solution is currently under negotiation.
